How is Coltan Ore mined?

Coltan Ore is mined through a variety of methods. Most of it, however, is mined in a fairly primitive way, similar to that of gold in the 1800s.

Most methods involve hand-mining and underground digging; its effects on the environment and on endemic species vary greatly depending on how invasive these methods are and the regulations of the country where they are applied.

Our mining method

In our allied Colombia-based mining operations, Coltan Ore is mined through a mixture of modern and low environmental impact procedures; all aimed at maximizing productivity while minimizing the impact on, both, the environment from which Coltan Ore is extracted and the endemic wildlife native to the site.
